Connie

Connie & ToriConnie always had a great affinity for animals, and had a variety of “critters” as she was growing up. Like many in the dog world, horses were her original passion, and she has more than 25 years of training and successfully competing with Arabian horses, earning numerous Regional and National honors.

In 1995, Connie sold her last horse in order to purchase her first show dog, a beautiful and talented Doberman named Tori, and the rest - as they say - is history. Connie and Tori competed successfully in obedience, conformation, herding and agility - earning more than 20 titles and multiple national rankings, including #1 Agility Doberman in 2001, 2004 and 2005.

Connie continues to compete successfully with her Dobermans, but is now taking her passion for dogs and competition and using it to teach other dogs owners how to communicate effectively with their canine partners. Her many years of experience as a trainer and a successful competitor has given her the knowledge and understanding of how a dog's mind works. Not all dogs read "the books".

ConnieSince 1996, Connie has been using positive methods to instruct people and train dogs. In addition to her real-life experience, Connie also continues to educate herself by attending seminars given by some of the top behaviorists in the world, including Ian Dunbar, Patricia McConnell, Jean Donaldson and Suzanne Clothier.

Connie has worked with a wide variety of dogs, from Chihuahuas to Great Danes, evaluating temperament and modifying problem behaviors. She is also a certified CGC (Canine Good Citizen) evaluator for the AKC, and offers testing throughout the year. She is also a member of the American Pet Dog Trainers Association and actively involved with Doberman Rescue.

Lori

Lori

Lori came to work for K9 Playhouse on April 9th, 2007. She brought with her a great love, and compassion for all animals.

Since starting, Lori has continued her education of working with dogs by attending seminars, taking an Obedience class here at K9 Playhouse, and reading numerous trade magazines/books. Lori also brought with her, her friendly smile, and "how can I help?" attitude. Lori makes Connie's "job" much easier, as she never has to worry about the K9 Kids when she’s in charge of things.

Lori shares her life with her husband Richard, three dogs – Rosie, Cheyenne, and Raven, and three cats – Sassy, Angel, and Tigger.
